Year 1 Teacher – Full-time, long-term maternity cover from June 2026 until the end of the academic year

Duties as Year 1 Teacher:

Teach a Year 1 class full time with no planning or marking required
Deliver high‑quality daily lessons using provided planning frameworks
Maintain consistent classroom routines and promote positive behaviour
Support pupils’ early literacy, numeracy, phonics, and wider curriculum development
Adapt lesson delivery to meet varied learning needs, including SEND
Attend parents’ evenings and contribute to required school responsibilities
Work collaboratively with KS1 colleagues to ensure consistency across the phase
Uphold safeguarding expectations and prioritise pupil welfare

Ideal Year 1 Teacher:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with strong KS1 teaching experience
Confident delivering phonics, early reading, and foundational literacy and numeracy
Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
Strong communication and organisational abilities
Able to motivate and support pupils of differing abilities
Reflective, proactive, and committed to high‑quality teaching
Dedicated to safeguarding and supporting pupil well‑being
