Job description
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher to join a warm and supportive school community. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher to inspire young learners at this important early stage in their education. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a Year 1 Teacher:
Plan and deliver engaging, creative lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
Create a positive, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that nurtures curiosity and a love of learning.
Support pupils’ progress in early literacy, numeracy, and phonics, ensuring all children reach their potential.
Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing clear and constructive feedback to pupils and parents.
Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
Contribute to the wider life of the school through trips, events, and extra-curricular activities.
Maintain high standards of safeguarding and child welfare at all times.
Ideal Year 1 Teacher:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Experience teaching within Key Stage 1 is desirable.
Good knowledge of the Year 1 curriculum, including phonics teaching (e.g. Letters and Sounds, Read Write Inc.).
Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills as a Year 1 Teacher.
A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach to teaching and learning.
