Job description

We are seeking a passionate and committed Year 5 Teacher to join a supportive and ambitious team for the 2025–2026 academic year. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach a lively and enthusiastic upper Key Stage 2 class in a well-resourced and forward-thinking school.

Duties as Year 5 Teacher:

 

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 national curriculum

  • Foster a positive and stimulating classroom environment that promotes high expectations and strong progress

  • Track pupil achievement through effective assessment, feedback, and reporting

  • Work collaboratively with the KS2 team on planning and moderation

  • Engage with parents and carers to support children’s learning and development

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including trips and extracurricular opportunities

Ideal Year 5 Teacher:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching in Key Stage 2 (Year 5 experience desirable)

  • Strong understanding of upper KS2 curriculum expectations, including preparation for Year 6

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and behaviour management skills as a Year 5 Teacher.

  • A reflective, enthusiastic, and team-oriented approach
