Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 5 Teacher to join a friendly and supportive primary school team. This is a temporary role to cover a period of maternity leave, starting November 2025 up until July 2026. You will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons that inspire pupils and help them to achieve their full potential.

Duties as Year 5 Teacher:

 

  • Plan, prepare and deliver creative and differentiated lessons for a Year 5 class.

  • Assess and track pupil progress in line with school policies.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and carers to support pupils’ learning and well-being.

  • Contribute to wider school life, including trips, events and extracurricular activities where appropriate.

Ideal Year 5 Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.

  • Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, preferably Year 5.

  • Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and assessment procedures.

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills as a Year 5 Teacher.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
