Job description

We are seeking a confident and experienced Year 6 Supply Teacher to join a supportive primary team on a temporary basis.

This role is ideal for someone with strong KS2 experience and a clear understanding of the Year 6 curriculum, including SATs preparation and end-of-year expectations. You will be stepping into an established class and supported by a dedicated team of colleagues. Starting May 2025.

Duties as Year 6 Teacher:

 

  • Deliver high-quality teaching to a Year 6 class, following the school’s curriculum plans.

  • Maintain a positive and focused classroom environment that supports learning and behaviour.

  • Prepare pupils for end-of-year assessments and provide targeted support as needed.

  • Mark and assess work in line with school policy.

  • Work collaboratively with year group partners and senior leaders.

  • Communicate effectively with staff, pupils and parents.

Ideal Year 6 Teacher:

 

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)essential

  • Have recent experience teaching in Year 6 or upper Key Stage 2.

  • Be confident with assessment frameworks and SATs preparation.

  • Be adaptable, organised and enthusiastic.

  • Demonstrate excellent classroom and behaviour management skills as a Year 6 Teacher.

  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.
