Year 6 Teacher
Job description
We are looking to appoint a dedicated and motivated Year 6 Teacher to join a supportive team. This is a key role within the school, where the successful candidate will help pupils reach their full potential in preparation for secondary school and end-of-Key-Stage assessments (SATs). This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate teacher to make a lasting impact during this crucial stage in a child’s education. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a Year 6 Teacher:
Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in line with the Year 6 curriculum
Prepare pupils for SATs through effective teaching, assessment, and intervention strategies
Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment
Track and monitor progress, providing timely feedback and support to pupils and parents
Work collaboratively with support staff and colleagues to raise achievement
Contribute to the wider life of the school and demonstrate a commitment to whole-school improvement
Ideal Year 6 Teacher:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching in upper Key Stage 2, preferably in Year 6
Strong understanding of end-of-key-stage expectations and SATs preparation
High expectations of pupil progress, behaviour, and effort
Excellent organisational, communication and classroom management skills as a Year 6 Teacher.
