Job description

Step Teachers is looking for an experienced Year 6 Class Teacher. This role is due to commence in February 2024, until the end of the academic year, there is an opportunity for the role to become permanent depending on performance. 

Year 6 is the last year of a student's primary school career, as a Year 6 Class Teacher you will be setting the students up for their step into secondary education both academically, socially and mentally. The school are looking for a passionate and experienced Year 6 Class Teacher who wants to make a difference. 

Duties as a Year 6 Class Teaching Role:

  • Strong knowledge of the curriculum at Key Stage 2

  • Supporting the class through Year 6 SATS
  • Upkeep a tidy, organised classroom with accessible resources where needed

  • Work effectively with other members of staff, both within the classroom and throughout the school

  • Ability to monitor, assess and report on the progress of your students

  • Able to plan and deliver engaging and dynamic lessons

  • Willingness to comply with the schools’ policies and implement them effectively

Requirements:

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent qualification

  • Recent mainstream school-based experience teaching in a Primary School

  • Have a good level of classroom and behaviour management

  • Experience working with SEND is desirable
