This wonderful school in Southwark is looking for a Classroom Personal Care Assistant looking after children with severe learning disabilities. You will definitely need to have experience either working within a similar setting or from a care background. The children are wonderful but because of their conditions they will be nonresponsive and they will find it hard to understand social skills and the ability to do every day tasks like dressing themselves and feeding.
This is where you come in and provide the school with the support they need throughout the child's journey with the school. You will be supported throughout the day and you will be in a class of 6 children, however, you will be the main carer for one of the pupils in the class. There is an option to become permanent within the year if this is a pathway you decide to take.
