Job description

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Criminology/Sociology Teacher to inspire our Key Stage 4 and Post-16 learners. Starting September 2025.

Duties as a Criminology/Sociology Teacher:

  • Deliver high-quality, well-structured lessons in Criminology and Sociology to KS4 and KS5 students.

  • Inspire critical thinking, analytical skills and debate around contemporary issues.

  • Prepare students effectively for external examinations and coursework elements.

  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback and interventions.

  • Contribute to the development of schemes of work, enrichment activities, and trips.

  • Participate in departmental collaboration and continuous improvement.

Ideal Criminology/Sociology Teacher:

 

  • Hold QTS/QTLS and have experience teaching either Criminology, Sociology, or similar humanities/social science subjects at Key Stage 5.

  • Have a secure understanding of the WJEC Criminology specification and/or AQA/Eduqas Sociology.

  • Be passionate about the subject and committed to broadening students’ social and cultural awareness.

  • Demonstrate excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills.

  • Be reflective, enthusiastic, and willing to contribute to wider school/college life.
