Job description

A school in Broxbourne is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Design Technology Teacher for a long-term supply role starting in September 2025. This is an excellent opportunity to teach a dynamic subject that encourages creativity, problem-solving, and technical skills.

Duties as a Design Technology Teacher:

  • Teach Design Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 opportunities available if appropriate).

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in line with the curriculum.

  • Mark and assess student work regularly, providing constructive feedback.

  • Track and monitor student progress, implementing intervention strategies where needed.

  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and create a positive learning environment.

  • Contribute to departmental planning and resources development.

 Ideal Design Technology Teacher:

 

  • A qualified teacher (QTS essential) with a strong background in Design Technology.

  • Experience teaching a range of DT specialisms, such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, or Engineering.

  • A passionate, creative, and adaptable educator with excellent communication skills as a Design Technology Teacher.

  • Strong classroom management and the ability to inspire and challenge students.

  • Someone who can quickly integrate into a new team and maintain continuity of learning.
