Design Technology Teacher
Job description
This school is seeking a creative and dedicated Design and Technology Teacher to join a successful and well-resourced DT department. We are looking for someone who is passionate about practical learning, design thinking, and preparing students with the skills for tomorrow's world. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a Design Technology Teacher:
Teach Design and Technology to students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially KS5 depending on experience and specialism)
Deliver engaging and innovative lessons across a range of material areas (e.g. Resistant Materials, Product Design, Graphics, Engineering, or Textiles)
Foster creativity, technical knowledge, and problem-solving skills
Support student progress through effective assessment and feedback
Maintain high standards of health and safety in a well-equipped workshop environment
Ideal Design Technology Teacher:
A qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) with a specialism in Design and Technology or a related discipline
A passion for practical learning and a broad knowledge of materials and tools
Strong classroom management and the ability to engage and inspire pupils of all abilities
An understanding of current exam specifications (e.g. AQA, OCR, or Eduqas)
A willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities, competitions, or STEM events
