Design Technology Technician – Full-time, long-term temporary position starting as soon as possible

We are seeking a proactive Design Technology Technician to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school environment. Duties as Design Technology Technician:

  • Prepare materials and equipment for practical lessons in design technology
  • Maintain tools, machinery and workshop areas to ensure safety and functionality
  • Support teaching staff during lessons and demonstrations
  • Assist pupils with practical tasks and project work
  • Monitor stock levels and order supplies as needed
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the department

Ideal Design Technology Technician:

  • Experience working in a school workshop or similar technical environment
  • Knowledge of design technology tools, machinery and materials
  • Strong understanding of health and safety procedures
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
