Job description

Are you a creative and passionate educator who loves inspiring students through performance? A vibrant secondary school is seeking an enthusiastic Drama Teacher to join their performing arts department and bring creativity, confidence, and teamwork to life in the classroom. Beginning ASAP.

Duties as a Drama Teacher:

 

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and inclusive Drama lessons that meet curriculum requirements.

  • Direct school productions, performances, and extracurricular drama activities.

  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and maintaining accurate records.

  • Create a safe, positive, and inspiring classroom environment where all students can participate fully.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to design schemes of work and contribute to whole-school initiatives.

  • Organise and support trips, workshops, and other enrichment activities linked to Drama.

  • Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events as required.

Ideal Drama Teacher:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Strong subject knowledge and practical experience in Drama and performing arts.

  • Ability to motivate and engage students of all abilities, building their confidence and creativity.

  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills as a Drama Teacher.
