English Teacher – Full-time, long-term temporary and ongoing role starting as soon as possible

Duties as English Teacher:

Teach English across relevant year groups on a full-time basis
Deliver engaging lessons and support pupils with reading, writing, and analytical skills
Attend directed time on Mondays until 5pm as part of staff commitments
Use provided planning where needed and adapt lessons to meet learner needs
Maintain consistent behaviour expectations and a calm learning environment
Assess pupil understanding during lessons and provide verbal feedback
Contribute to departmental collaboration and wider school practice
Uphold safeguarding expectations and prioritise pupil welfare

Ideal English Teacher:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching English
Strong subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4
Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
Ability to motivate and support learners of mixed abilities
Reliable, proactive, and committed to high‑quality teaching
Good organisational and communication abilities
Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting pupil well‑being
