English Teacher
Job description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring English Teacher to join a supportive school team and help students develop strong reading, writing, and communication skills. You will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable) and foster a love of literature and language. Starting ASAP.
Duties as English Teacher:
Plan and deliver engaging lessons in English Language and Literature in line with the national curriculum.
Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations (GCSE and, if applicable, A-Level).
Differentiate lessons to meet a range of abilities and learning styles.
Mark work, assess progress, and provide constructive feedback to pupils and parents/carers.
Contribute to departmental planning, extracurricular activities, and school-wide literacy initiatives.
Ideal English Teacher:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Strong subject knowledge and passion for English Language and Literature.
Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience an advantage).
Excellent classroom management and communication skills as English Teacher.
Valid enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
