​Step Teachers are currently looking to recruit an exceptional teacher to join a secondary school in Lewisham as their Head of Music. This role is available on a full-time basis from Step Teacher 2022.

The school is located in Southwark and is a “Good” Ofsted-rated school that has been praised for the rapid rise in GCSE examinations with good progress in English, Maths and Science. The student achieves well with good teaching throughout the academy. The school has also been praised for its outstanding leadership.

Role:

  • Strong music curriculum knowledge at KS3 & 4

  • Upkeep a tidy, organised classroom with accessible resources where needed

  • Direct and support any additional staff in the classroom where applicable

  • Ability to assess and report on your students when required

  • Able to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons

  • Willingness to comply with the schools’ policies and implement them effectively

Requirements:

  • Hold QTS or the equivalent of

  • Have recent mainstream school-based experience teaching Maths

  • Relevant subject-specific degree is desirable
