Job description

A Lovely school in North London has asked Step Teachers to find them a health and social care teacher to start working with their wonderful department. The role of the health and social care teacher will be on a temporary contract, which is due to commence in April 2019.

The ideal candidate:

  • Is a confident and experienced practitioner holding QTS in health and social care, but an exceptional NQT would also be considered.
  • It is very important that you have a sound understanding of good practice in Assessment for Learning, and have confidence in planning and delivering the new GCSE specifications.
  • An outstanding classroom practitioner with proven ability to understand and utilise current theory and practice in relation to learning and development.
  • The successful candidate will hold positive values and attitudes and adopt high standards of behaviour in their professional role.

The school is a large comprehensive for pupils aged 11-18 and serves a very diverse community with students joining the school from 55 feeder primary schools. The school provides a distinctive and exciting learning environment in which all pupils receive the support and encouragement they need to become successful, confident and mature young adults.
