Step Teachers are looking for an experienced History Teacher to teach children in key stages 3 and 4. This is a maternity cover role available from January 2024 until July 2024.

This is a "Good" Ofsted-rated school where the headteacher and senior leaders are precise in their evaluation of the school and are without compromise in their continuing programme of improvement. Consequently, leaders have created an ethos for education that is shared by all staff and one that pupils value. 

As the ideal History Teacher for this role, you will:

• Possess strong knowledge of the History curriculum at the KS3 and KS4 levels
• Be able to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons
• Upkeep a clean, tidy, and considerate classroom environment
• Display a strong, mentoring personality toward students
• Cultivate positive relationships with students, working to inspire good behaviour and a passion for learning
• Cooperate with and support your colleagues and additional classroom staff
• Be able to accurately assess and report on your students, and articulate solutions to their difficulties
• Comply with and implement the school's policies, and take part in their supportive educational ethos

Requirements for this role:

• QTS is a must-have
• Recent mainstream school-based experience teaching History
• A relevant subject-specific degree is desirable
