Humanities Teacher – Flexible short-term and long-term opportunities available immediately

These flexible opportunities are ideal for Humanities Teachers who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different secondary school settings. You will be supporting pupils in Enfield and the surrounding areas, delivering engaging lessons across Humanities subjects such as History, Geography, RE, or Social Sciences depending on school requirements.

Duties as Humanities Teacher:

  • Deliver engaging Humanities lessons using provided plans
  • Teach across one or more Humanities subjects depending on experience
  • Support pupils in developing analytical thinking, communication, and enquiry skills
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of mixed‑ability learners
  • Assess and record pupil progress when required
  • Support departmental planning and wider curriculum activities during longer‑term placements
  • Contribute positively to a purposeful and inclusive learning environment

Ideal Humanities Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Strong subject knowledge in one or more Humanities disciplines
  • Confident behaviour and classroom management skills
  • Ability to inspire curiosity and engagement among pupils
  • Adaptable across different year groups and varied school settings
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
