Intervention Teaching Assistant – Full-time, temporary to permanent position starting as soon as possible

We are seeking a committed Intervention Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary SEMH school environment. The school promotes high standards of teaching and learning, with a strong emphasis on pupil wellbeing and personal development. Duties as Intervention Teaching Assistant:

Provide targeted academic and emotional support to pupils with SEMH needs
Deliver structured intervention sessions in maths, English, or other core subjects
Work closely with teaching staff and SENCOs to implement individual learning plans
Support pupils in managing behaviour and developing self-regulation strategies
Assist with classroom activities and transitions throughout the school day
Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and engagement
Must be able to drive to support off-site activities and pupil transport if required

Ideal Intervention Teaching Assistant:

Experience working with secondary-aged pupils with SEMH needs
Strong understanding of intervention strategies and behaviour support
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Confident managing challenging behaviour with empathy and consistency
Must hold a valid driving licence and be willing to travel as part of the role
Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Willingness to undertake relevant training and development
