Job description
KS1 Teaching Assistant – Full-time, long-term temporary position starting January 2026
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated KS1 Teaching Assistant to join a school that provides a nurturing and inclusive environment. Duties as KS1 Teaching Assistant:
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons for KS1 pupils
- Assist with planning and preparation of learning activities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils where needed
- Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Support pupils’ social and emotional development
- Ensure safeguarding and behaviour policies are consistently upheld
Ideal KS1 Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience working with KS1 pupils is desirable
- Strong understanding of the primary curriculum
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
