KS1 Teaching Assistant – Full-time, long-term temporary position starting January 2026

Duties as KS1 Teaching Assistant:

Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons for KS1 pupils
Assist with planning and preparation of learning activities
Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils where needed
Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Support pupils’ social and emotional development
Ensure safeguarding and behaviour policies are consistently upheld

Ideal KS1 Teaching Assistant:

Previous experience working with KS1 pupils is desirable
Strong understanding of the primary curriculum
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
