Job description

Are you a passionate and qualified Life Skills Teacher with experience in special needs education? Step Teachers are working with a dynamic school in search of a Life Skills Teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to join their dedicated team. As a Life Skills Teacher, you will play a vital role in empowering students with special needs to develop essential life skills, fostering independence and preparing them for a successful future. As a Life Skills Teacher, you will be needed in both Primary and Secondary departments.

This Life Skills Teacher role is subject to start immediately and is a long-term position with the potential for a permanent contract for the right candidate.

Life Skills Teacher Role

  • Design and implement engaging and age-appropriate life skills curriculum tailored to the unique needs of students
  • Provide differentiated instruction to accommodate varying abilities and learning styles
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and support staff to create a holistic approach to student development.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed.

Life Skills Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a relevant teaching degree.
  • Experience in special needs education, preferably with a focus on life skills development.
  • Understanding of diverse learning needs and the ability to adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with special needs.
