We are looking for a qualified Maths teacher for a contract position which has become available in one of our favourite Barnet secondary schools. This is a temporary contract position through Step Teachers and applications are welcome from Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) as well as those with more experience. The position of Maths teacher is due to commence in April. The position of Maths teacher at this school will be integral in allowing pupils to learn in a way that works for them and enables them to have the potential to reach their best.

As a Maths teacher you should comply with the following;

  • To enthuse, lead, develop and enhance the teaching practices of others across the phase, through mentoring, coaching, evaluating, supporting, guiding and target setting.
  • To be accountable for the strategic leadership and management of a phase, within the context of the School's aims and policies.
  • To promote the positive ethos and culture of the School to other staff, governors, parents, children and members of the wider community.
  • To contribute to and actively support the overall ethos/work/aims of the School.

This is a superb school where the SMT are making huge strides in provision and attainment. Students are encouraged to strive for academic excellence and develop their character through challenges, interpersonal skills and broad interests; thereby building character and skills which will serve them as they move onwards into adult life. This school is evolving rapidly, and the Governors are keen to retain excellent teachers and develop their careers as future leaders for the school and wider community.

Candidates will be subject to a variety of checks including an enhanced DBS check, full references including your most recent employer and eligibility to work in the UK. Step Teachers are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.
