Media Studies Teacher
Job description
Are you passionate about media, digital culture, and creative communication? We are seeking a talented and forward-thinking Media Studies Teacher to join a dedicated team and inspire the next generation of critical thinkers, content creators, and media analysts. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and contemporary Media Studies lessons at Key Stage 4 (GCSE) and Key Stage 5 (A-Level or equivalent), depending on experience. You’ll guide students through the analysis and creation of media products, from film and advertising to social media and journalism, using a mix of theory and practical work. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a Media Studies Teacher:
Teach Media Studies with creativity and relevance to today’s media landscape
Deliver lessons that combine media theory, analysis, and practical production
Prepare students for GCSE and/or A-Level examinations (e.g. Eduqas, AQA)
Support students with coursework, media projects, and exam preparation
Encourage critical thinking and media literacy skills
Contribute to department planning, media clubs, and enrichment activities
Ideal Media Studies Teacher:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
A degree in Media Studies, Film, Communications, or a related subject
Strong knowledge of current media trends and issues
Ability to teach both theoretical and practical elements confidently as a Media Studies Teacher.
Experience with editing software and media production (e.g. Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, etc.)
A passion for storytelling, creativity, and engaging with young minds
