Job description

Nursery Assistant – Full-time, long-term temporary starting as soon as possible until August 2026.

This nursery provides a warm, nurturing, and well‑organised early years environment where children benefit from caring adults, consistent routines, and engaging learning experiences. Staff work collaboratively to support children’s social, emotional, and developmental needs, helping them feel safe, confident, and ready to explore. Leaders promote high standards of care and early education, creating an atmosphere where children make steady progress in their early learning.

Duties as Nursery Assistant:

  • Support children through structured and play‑based early years activities
  • Assist with daily routines, including settling, toileting, feeding, and transitions
  • Create a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment
  • Help deliver age‑appropriate learning experiences across the EYFS
  • Observe children and contribute to early years assessments when required
  • Encourage social interaction, independence, and communication skills
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain consistent practice
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and prioritise child welfare
