Performing Arts Teacher
Job description
We are seeking an energetic and inspirational Performing Arts Teacher to join a vibrant creative arts department on a permanent basis starting January 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to nurture students’ talent and passion for drama, music, dance, and the wider performing arts.
Duties as Performing Arts Teacher:
Plan and deliver high-quality lessons across the Performing Arts curriculum (Drama, Music, Dance or a combination, depending on specialism).
Prepare students for practical and written assessments, productions, and examinations.
Organise and direct school productions, concerts, and extra-curricular clubs.
Foster creativity, confidence, and teamwork, encouraging all students to participate and excel.
Contribute to department planning, resources, and whole-school initiatives.
Uphold safeguarding policies and maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
Ideal Performing Arts Teacher:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Strong subject knowledge and proven experience teaching Performing Arts at secondary level (Key Stage 3–5 preferred).
Excellent communication, organisational and classroom management skills as a Performing Arts Teacher.
Passion for the performing arts and the ability to inspire students of all abilities.
Current Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.
