Job description

Are you passionate about human behaviour, the mind, and mental health? We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Psychology Teacher to join a social sciences or sixth form team. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire young people to explore psychological theories, research, and real-world applications. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality Psychology lessons at Key Stage 5 (A-Level or equivalent), with the potential to contribute to Key Stage 4 where applicable. You'll encourage analytical thinking, independent research, and a scientific approach to the study of mind and behaviour. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as Psychology Teacher:

 

  • Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons in line with exam board specifications (e.g. AQA, Edexcel)

  • Prepare students for assessments and external examinations, supporting academic excellence

  • Foster a love of learning, curiosity, and critical thinking in Psychology

  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support

  • Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities, such as psychology clubs, debates, or guest lectures

  • Uphold high standards of behaviour, inclusion, and safeguarding in the classroom

Ideal Psychology Teacher:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • A degree in Psychology or a closely related subject

  • Strong subject knowledge and up-to-date understanding of current psychological research and theory

  • Experience teaching Psychology at A-Level (preferred, though ECTs are welcome to apply)

  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and classroom management skills as a Psychology Teacher.

  • A commitment to academic rigour, student wellbeing, and inclusive education
