Reception Class Teacher

Step Teachers are a preferred supplier for Teach in Herts; as a part of our ongoing success in building and retaining relationships with many schools and academy trusts in the area we are currently looking for a Reception Teacher in an Independent school in the Hertsmere District. The role is full time, starting in January 2024 for at least one academic term. 

The school has been voted in the top 10 in the country and has an ethos centred around being inspiring and encouraging so that students leave the school as independent and empowered individuals. Alongside the provision of a high standard of education, they achieve their through giving students a safe and supportive environment to learn. 

Role:

• Strong knowledge of the curriculum in an Early Years and the ability to adapt to the school curriculum
• Upkeep a tidy, organised classroom with accessible resources where needed
• Work effectively with other members of staff, both within the classroom, and throughout the school
• Ability to monitor, assess and report on the progress of your students
• Able to plan and deliver engaging lesson that can be adapted to the needs of the class
• Willingness to comply with the schools’ policies and implement them effectively

Requirements:

• Hold QTS or an equivalent qualification
• Recent mainstream school-based experience teaching in a Primary School
• Have a good level of classroom and behaviour management
• Experience working with SEND is desirable
