Job description

We are seeking a dedicated Science Teacher for a part-time, short-term role from January 2026 to February 2026.

This opportunity is within a secondary school that fosters a respectful and inclusive learning environment. This is a no-planning position, ideal for a qualified teacher with experience, particularly those with a specialism in Biology.

Science Teacher Duties

  • Deliver engaging science lessons with a focus on Biology, using pre-prepared materials
  • Support students in understanding key scientific concepts across KS3 and KS4
  • Maintain a positive and focused classroom environment
  • Follow school policies on behaviour, safeguarding, and assessment
  • Provide feedback to the department on student engagement and progress
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure continuity and support for learners

Ideal Candidate – Science Teacher

  • Holds QTS and has experience teaching Science at the secondary level
  • Specialism in Biology is an advantage
  • Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills
  • Is confident delivering pre-planned lessons and adapting to different learner needs as a Science Teacher.
  • Has excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
