Job description

Are you a Science teacher looking for a January 2022 position?  Our team is working with a client in Brandon that is seeking a Science Teacher to join their large department on a permanent basis.  The role is offered on a full-time basis and applications are welcome from ECT's as well as those with more experience.

This is a large mixed comprehensive school with high aspirations for everyone who is part of the community whether student or member of staff. A rapidly improving school was recently rated by Ofsted as having good leadership and good capacity to improve further. You will see when you visit the School that they are passionate about what they do: getting the best out of every child whatever their abilities, interests, or ambitions. This is a place of work and a strong work ethic is demanded from staff and students alike.

  • You should have a teaching qualification and a Science-based degree.
  • The appointed Science teacher should motivate, enthuse, excite and challenge students to produce the highest quality work.
  • You will have schemes of work that are creative, varied, and flexible enough to promote differentiation and commitment to pupil progression.
  • Have experience delivering Science in a mainstream setting

Step Teachers are an agency listed as an approved supplier on the Crown Commercial Service.  This is a new framework for schools to use, ensuring they have access to reputable agencies that meet certain safeguarding and recruitment guidelines.  The DfE is heavily marketing this service across schools and we would strongly suggest making sure you are registered with a CCS-approved agency moving forwards.  Registering with Step Teachers ensures you are working for a trusted partner of the DfE.

Candidates will be subject to a variety of checks including an enhanced DBS check, full references including your most recent employer, and eligibility to work in the UK. Step Teachers are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.
