Job description
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school environment on a temporary to permanent basis starting in October 2025.

Duties as an SEMH Teaching Assistant:
Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
Assist in planning and delivering personalised learning and behaviour support strategies
Promote emotional regulation, resilience, and positive behaviour
Support teaching staff in maintaining an engaging, inclusive, and structured learning environment
Build trusting relationships with pupils to support their emotional well-being and self-esteem
Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, and external professionals
Contribute to creating a safe and nurturing atmosphere that encourages participation and progress
Ideal SEMH Teaching Assistant:
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or additional learning needs
Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3 preferred)
Excellent communication and behaviour management skills as an SEMH Teaching Assistant.
A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach
