Job description

Step Teachers are a preferred supplier for Teach in Herts; as a part of our ongoing success in building and retaining relationships with many schools and academy trusts in the area we are currently looking for a full time Teaching Assistant in a Specialist Provision School near Hertford. The role starts at the start of November and while it is initially until the end of term, the school are keen to extend this for someone who can make a positive impact on both the school and students. 

The school is a specialist SEMH school catering for secondary age students who provide a safe learning environment where the students can develop as healthy and happy individuals. The school are looking for someone who can not only support the students but who can also have a positive effect on the school as well. 

Role:

  • Able to support the students in the class under the direction of the class teacher
  • Upkeep a tidy, organised classroom with accessible resources where needed
  • Work effectively with other members of staff in the classroom and throughout the school
  • Ability to support students, on a whole class, small group and one to one basis, and encourage their progression
  • Willingness to comply with the schools’ policies and implement effectively

Requirements:

  • Recent experience working in a primary school or with school aged children
  • A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification is desirable
  • SEND experience is desirable
