SEND Teaching Assistant – Full-time, day-to-day supply from as soon as possible

These flexible opportunities are ideal for SEND Teaching Assistants who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings in Plymouth and the surrounding areas. Candidates must have proven SEND experience, hold a valid driving licence, and be available to work five days a week.

Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and tailored learning strategies
Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and developing independence
Help manage behaviour using positive reinforcement techniques
Collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to monitor pupil progress
Assist with personal care and mobility needs where required
Promote inclusion and encourage social and emotional development

Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:

Proven experience supporting children with SEND in an educational setting
Knowledge of a range of SEND needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties
A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting pupils
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to adapt to different school environments and pupil needs
Must hold a valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle
Must be available to work five days per week
Relevant qualifications in education or child development are desirable
An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
