SEND Teaching Assistants – Supply roles in Thetford and surrounding areas, starting ASAP
These flexible opportunities are ideal for SEND Teaching Assistants who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings in Thetford and the surrounding areas. You will work with pupils who have special educational needs, supporting their learning and well-being in a range of classroom environments.
Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
- Help manage behaviour and promote a positive learning environment
- Support pupils with personal care needs where required
- Encourage independence and social interaction among pupils
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with staff
Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience working with children with SEND (school or care setting)
- Knowledge of strategies for supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, or other needs
- Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
