Job description
SEND Teaching Assistant – Daily supply cover from ASAP
These flexible opportunities are ideal for teaching assistants who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings in Brent and the surrounding areas.
Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:
- Support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities across a range of school environments
- Assist teachers in delivering tailored learning activities and interventions
- Promote inclusive practices and help pupils access the curriculum
- Provide one-to-one and small group support
- Implement behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation techniques
- Monitor and record pupil progress and development
- Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals
Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:
- Holds a recognised Teaching Assistant qualification
- Has experience supporting pupils with SEND in primary or secondary settings
- Demonstrates patience, empathy, and resilience
- Understands a range of SEND needs including autism, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
- Works effectively as part of a team and independently
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills as a SEND Teaching Assistant
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
