Job description

Few school subjects currently on offer can directly impact the future of sustainable design and construction like Resistant Materials, and it’s an inspiring and passionate teacher of Resistant Materials that one of our longest-standing clients in North London are currently looking to recruit for a position starting after the 2019 Easter Holiday. This is a full-time position complete with planning, marking and meeting requirements.

The Art & Design department is well-staffed and those members of staff are incredibly supportive of, and helpful towards each other; however, as a Resistant Materials specialist you would, under the guidance of the head of faculty, be the only real expert in the subject at present. The department has lost a couple of specialists in recent times and struggled to re-recruit due to a shortage; so if you’re an NQT, here’s a great chance to get advice from a variety of specialists and mould your teaching style into something unique and well-rounded in a great training environment. If you’re a more experienced teacher, you’ll be taking this role on in the knowledge that you can be as creative as you wish and adapt the ways of the classroom to suit your strengths and skills.

The salary offer is on the Main Pay Scale for outer London, broken down into a daily rate on an initial long-term supply basis before transferring on to the school as a permanent member of staff. The school are also flexible with regards to scheduling and can accommodate a more part-time timetable.

So if you’re an innovative, enthusiastic and motivated teacher of Resistant Materials then pop your CV over to the email address below; if you’re innovative, enthusiastic and motivated but you aren’t a Resistant Materials teacher then you may have mis-clicked, but since you’re here and have read this far, please pass this on to anyone you know who may be more suitably interested in this opportunity.

Candidates will be subject to a variety of checks including an enhanced DBS check, full references including your most recent employer and eligibility to work in the UK. Step Teachers are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.

Unlike other agencies, Step Teachers are more than happy to process your pay via PAYE – you will not be forced to go with an Umbrella Company whilst on supply.
