Job description
We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to work within the SEN and Nurture Rooms on a long-term, temporary, ongoing basis, starting as soon as possible.
Join a caring and inclusive school where pupils feel safe, valued, and inspired to learn. From the early years onward, children thrive in a well-resourced, stimulating environment and benefit from a rich, well-planned curriculum delivered by knowledgeable staff. Strong relationships with families and tailored support—especially for pupils with SEND—ensure every child can succeed. Enrichment activities, including trips to London landmarks and the seaside, broaden horizons and nurture confident, enthusiastic learners.
Duties as a Teaching Assistant:
Provide support to students with additional needs in a nurturing and structured environment
Promote emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour within the Nurture Room
Use effective behaviour management techniques to maintain a calm and focused setting
Assist with the delivery of tailored learning activities and interventions
Build positive, trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement and confidence
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to support individual development plans
Ideal Teaching Assistant:
Experience working with children with SEN or social, emotional, and behavioural needs
Strong behaviour management skills as a Teaching Assistant.
A caring, patient, and nurturing approach to supporting children
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
