Step Teachers are currently recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant on behalf of a Plymouth Primary School. This is a 1 to 1 Teaching Assistant position, to work with a child with complex needs. The successful Teaching Assistant will be required 5 mornings a week, due to a reduced School day for the pupil. Please view the bullet pointed specification below for more information. We are also currently recruiting for other SEN provisions, so if you are interested but unsure of your suitability please apply and we will be in touch.
- The pupil is non-communicative, and as such candidates who are trained in Level 1 or 2 of PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) will be at an advantage
- Experience working with Autism is required, and any completed CPD on working with children who have Autism would be excellent
- The Teaching Assistant may be required to undertake changing and intimate care
- Applicants require a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification for this position
The position is located in the Eggbuckland area, and as previously mentioned will be 5 mornings a week. This is a great opportunity for someone with SEN experience, looking for a new role in a rewarding environment.
Candidates will be subject to a variety of checks including an enhanced DBS check, full references including your most recent employer and eligibility to work in the UK. Step Teachers are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.
