Year 1 Teacher
Job description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school on a long-term temporary basis, starting in November 2025.
Pupils are happy, confident, and feel safe. They enjoy learning in a kind and respectful environment where staff have high expectations and provide a broad, engaging curriculum. Opportunities for leadership and enrichment, including clubs and trips, help pupils develop socially and academically, preparing them well for the future.
Duties as a Year 1 Teacher:
Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Year 1 curriculum.
Assess and monitor pupil progress, ensuring all learners are supported and challenged appropriately.
Create a positive and stimulating classroom environment.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents to enhance pupils’ learning experience.
Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.
Ideal Year 1 Teacher:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Experience teaching within Key Stage 1, ideally Year 1.
Strong classroom management and communication skills as a Year 1 Teacher.
A caring, patient and flexible approach to teaching.
