Job description

Year 3/4 Teacher – Part-time, long-term temporary cover from January 2026

This part-time Year 3/4 Teacher role begins in January 2026 and offers ongoing long-term cover in a welcoming and inclusive primary school. The school is committed to providing a nurturing environment where pupils feel safe, valued, and motivated to learn. Leaders are ambitious and have high expectations for all pupils, ensuring that teaching is well-structured and engaging. Staff work collaboratively to support pupils’ academic and personal development, and behaviour across the school is calm and respectful.

Duties as Year 3/4 Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the KS2 curriculum
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing feedback and support
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and other staff to support learning
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers
  • Contribute to the wider school community and attend relevant meetings

Ideal Year 3/4 Teacher:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally in mixed-age classes
  • Demonstrates strong classroom management and organisational skills as a Year 3/4 Teacher
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
  • Enthusiastic, adaptable, and able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
