Job description

Year 4 Teacher – Full-time maternity cover from September 2026

 

This nurturing and well-organised primary setting provides a positive and engaging learning environment where pupils behave well and show enthusiasm for their studies. Teaching is consistently strong, with staff working effectively under supportive leadership that prioritises high expectations and meaningful progress. Relationships across the school are respectful, and the curriculum is carefully structured to encourage pupils to develop both academically and personally.

Duties as Year 4 Teacher:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons aligned with the Year 4 curriculum.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
  • Track and support pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies where needed.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to year group and whole‑school initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil achievements and needs.
  • Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and promote the welfare of all pupils.

Ideal Year 4 Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status with experience in Key Stage 2.
  • Strong understanding of the Year 4 curriculum and effective classroom practice.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and support pupils of all abilities.
  • Excellent organisational, assessment, and communication skills.
  • A reflective practitioner committed to professional growth and team collaboration.
  • Reliable, flexible, and dedicated to creating positive learning experiences.
