Job description

We are looking to appoint a skilled and enthusiastic teacher to lead a mixed Year 5/6 class for the full academic year 2025–2026. This is a vital upper Key Stage 2 role, and we welcome applications from experienced teachers and confident Early Career Teachers. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing pupils for the transition to secondary school, ensuring academic progress and personal development.

Duties as Year 5/6 Teacher:

 

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in line with the KS2 curriculum

  • Support pupils in achieving their potential through effective differentiation and assessment

  • Prepare Year 6 pupils for end-of-key-stage SATs in a calm and encouraging manner

  • Create a positive, well-organised, and stimulating classroom environment

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff

  • Foster strong communication with parents and carers

Ideal Year 5/6 Teacher:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Recent experience in upper Key Stage 2, ideally with Year 6

  • Strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum and assessment framework

  • Confident classroom management and high expectations for behaviour as a Year 5/6 Teacher.

  • Enthusiastic, reflective, and committed to pupil progress and wellbeing
