Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and committed Year 6 Teacher to join a friendly primary school on a long-term temporary contract. This is an excellent opportunity to guide pupils through their final year of primary education and prepare them for a successful transition to secondary school. Beginning ASAP.

Duties as Year 6 Teacher:

 

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cover the full Key Stage 2 curriculum, with a focus on preparing pupils for SATs and secondary school.

  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all abilities and ensure every child makes strong progress.

  • Assess, track and report on pupil attainment and well-being.

  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages confidence, independence and a love of learning.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and carers to support each child’s development.

Ideal Year 6 Teacher:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Strong understanding of the Year 6 curriculum, including SATs preparation.

  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills as Year 6 Teacher.

  • Ability to inspire, motivate and engage pupils.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
