Job description

We are seeking an exceptional Headteacher with a passion for delivering outstanding leadership, particularly in Year 6, to guide our school to new heights. Duties as Year 6 Headteacher:

 

  • Lead and manage the school’s strategic direction, ensuring the highest standards in Year 6 and throughout the school.

  • Take responsibility for raising achievement and improving outcomes for all pupils, particularly during their transition to secondary school.

  • Work closely with staff, governors, and the community to create a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and aspiration.

  • Ensure the effective implementation of the curriculum, focusing on preparing Year 6 for SATs and the next stage of their educational journey.

  • Champion a positive, supportive school environment where all children thrive emotionally, socially, and academically.

Ideal Year 6 Headteacher:

  • Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and ideally an NPQH (or be working towards it).

  • Have proven leadership experience, ideally in Key Stage 2, with a strong track record in improving outcomes in Year 6.

  • Have a deep understanding of the Year 6 curriculum, SATs preparation, and pupil progression as Year 6 Headteacher.

  • Be a strong communicator with the ability to lead, inspire, and motivate staff, pupils, and parents.

  • Have a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children.
