Deputy Head of Science

This school in Enfield is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and forward-thinking Deputy Head of Science to play a key role in the leadership of our highly regarded Science department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a committed professional looking to take the next step in their career and help shape the future of science education at our school. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a General Science Teacher:

• Support the strategic and operational leadership of the Science department

• Lead on curriculum development, assessment, and teaching and learning within your specialism or area of responsibility

• Coach and mentor colleagues to raise standards and drive progress across the department

• Monitor student performance data and coordinate intervention strategies

• Contribute to the broader development of STEM across the school

• Deputise for the Head of Science as needed, including in departmental and whole-school leadership meetings

Ideal General Science Teacher:

• A qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) with a strong track record of excellent classroom practice in science

• Experience of leadership, ideally at departmental or key stage level

• Deep subject knowledge in one or more science disciplines (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)

• A strategic thinker who can analyse data and implement effective improvement strategies as a General Science Teacher.

• A collaborative and inspiring leader with high expectations of staff and students

• Passionate about inclusive education and committed to supporting all learners to achieve their potential
