Job description

We are seeking a dedicated Early Years Practitioner for a long-term, part-time role working 4 days a week, with the potential to become permanent.

This opportunity is within an outstanding nursery setting where children play happily and thrive in a nurturing and stimulating environment. Staff are incredibly sensitive to children’s needs and promote their well-being throughout the day. The nursery encourages exploration, curiosity, and independence, helping children develop essential motor and communication skills. Behaviour is exceptionally good, and children are supported to take well-supervised risks and engage in enriching activities that foster their development.

Duties of the Early Years Practitioner include:

  • Supporting the care and development of babies and young children in a nursery setting
  • Creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
  • Planning and delivering age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, and cognitive development
  • Observing and recording children’s progress to inform future planning
  • Collaborating with colleagues and parents to support each child’s individual needs
  • Promoting positive behaviour and well-being throughout the day
  • Ensuring safeguarding and health & safety procedures are followed at all times

The ideal Early Years Practitioner will have:

  • A Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare
  • Proven experience working with babies in a nursery or similar setting
  • A nurturing and responsive approach to supporting young children
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A good understanding of EYFS and child development
  • Paediatric First Aid certification (preferred)
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
