English Teacher – Full-time, temp to perm from January 2026

This is an exciting opportunity for an English Teacher to join a school that provides a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Duties as English Teacher:

Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons across Key Stages, ensuring progress and engagement
Teach some Humanities lessons as part of the timetable
Prepare and assess pupils for examinations and provide constructive feedback
Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of pupils with SEMH requirements
Create a positive and stimulating classroom environment that promotes a love of learning
Contribute to departmental planning and whole-school initiatives
Maintain high standards of behaviour and implement effective classroom management strategies

Ideal English Teacher:

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Strong subject knowledge in English and some Humanities
Previous experience teaching in secondary settings
Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs is highly desirable
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
