Job description

We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic Food Preparation and Nutrition Teacher to join secondary schools in the Great Yarmouth area. The successful candidate will inspire students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping them develop practical cooking skills, nutritional knowledge, and a passion for healthy eating and food science. Beginning ASAP.

Duties as Food Preparation and Nutrition Teacher:

 

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Food Preparation and Nutrition in line with the national curriculum and exam board specifications.

  • Teach practical cooking skills, food safety, nutrition, and food science concepts.

  • Differentiate lessons to support students of varying abilities and learning styles.

  • Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and setting clear targets.

  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, and hygiene in all practical sessions.

  • Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development, and extra-curricular activities such as cooking clubs or competitions.

Ideal Food Preparation and Nutrition Teacher:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent.

  • Strong subject knowledge and practical experience in Food Preparation and Nutrition.

  • Excellent classroom and practical room management skills as a Food Preparation and Nutrition Teacher.

  • Ability to inspire creativity, curiosity, and independent learning.

  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
