Food Preparation and Nutrition Teacher
Job description
We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic Food Preparation and Nutrition Teacher to join secondary schools in the Great Yarmouth area. The successful candidate will inspire students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping them develop practical cooking skills, nutritional knowledge, and a passion for healthy eating and food science. Beginning ASAP.
Duties as Food Preparation and Nutrition Teacher:
Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Food Preparation and Nutrition in line with the national curriculum and exam board specifications.
Teach practical cooking skills, food safety, nutrition, and food science concepts.
Differentiate lessons to support students of varying abilities and learning styles.
Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and setting clear targets.
Maintain high standards of health, safety, and hygiene in all practical sessions.
Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development, and extra-curricular activities such as cooking clubs or competitions.
Ideal Food Preparation and Nutrition Teacher:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent.
Strong subject knowledge and practical experience in Food Preparation and Nutrition.
Excellent classroom and practical room management skills as a Food Preparation and Nutrition Teacher.
Ability to inspire creativity, curiosity, and independent learning.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
