Job description

Step Teachers are looking for a Food Technology Teacher to start in a client school from September 2024:

The school is a “Good” Ofsted-rated school who have excellent leadership in its headteacher and senior leadership team. Subject-lead teachers are leading improvements in their subject area and pupils make good process in a wide range of subjects. The school works to ensure that the disadvantaged pupils make rapid progress and pupils’ behaviour is excellent. There is also a sixth form on site which is also rated “Good” by Ofsted.

Role of a Food Technology Teacher:

  • Strong knowledge of the Food Technology curriculum at KS3 & 4
  • Upkeep a tidy, organised classroom with the safe use and storage of all equipment and materials.
  • Direct and support any additional staff in the classroom where applicable
  • Ability to assess and report on your students when required
  • Able to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to support all students
  • Willingness to comply with the schools’ policies and implement them effectively

Requirements:

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent qualification for teaching in Secondary School
  • Have recent mainstream school-based experience as a Food Technology Teacher in a Secondary School.
  • Have a good level of classroom and behaviour management
  • A related degree is desirable.
  • SEND experience is desirable
