General Science Teachers – Flexible short-term and long-term roles available across Somerset and surrounding areas
These flexible opportunities are ideal for teachers who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings. You will work in a range of secondary schools, delivering engaging science lessons and supporting pupils’ learning in dynamic environments.
Duties as General Science Teacher:
- Plan and deliver high-quality science lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively to ensure a positive learning environment
- Assess, record and report on pupil progress
- Prepare students for examinations and provide constructive feedback
- Uphold safeguarding standards and promote the welfare of pupils
Ideal General Science Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry and Physics at KS3 and KS4
- Experience teaching in secondary schools
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
- Ability to engage and inspire students in science
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
- Flexibility to work across different schools and adapt to varied environments
